Islamabad, Apr 21 (IBNS): Three Pakistan Supreme Court judges have been named for the judicial commission to investigate the attack on country's celebrity journalist Hamid Mir, media reports said on Monday.

"Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has approved the name of three Supreme Court judges for the judicial commission to probe the attack on Geo News senior anchor Hamid Mir," Geo News reported.

"The three judges approved for the commission are Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman and Justice Ejaz Afzal," the Pakistani news channel said.

Meanwhile, Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif visited the journalist at a hospital in Karachi where he is undergoing treatment, media reports said.

Hamid Mir was injured after he was shot at by four unknown armed men in Pakistan's Karachi city on Saturday.

Hamid Mir is a news anchor, terrorism expert, and security analyst who regularly participates in international conferences. He is also known for his columns in Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, and English newspapers and hosts a popular political talk show Capital Talk on Geo TV.

He was banned from TV by the military regime of General Pervez Musharraf in 2007 and was again banned by the Zardari-led Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) government in June 2008.

But later he was awarded Pakistan high civil decoration Hilal-i-Imtiaz by President Zardari under the PPP government.

In 2012,  Hamid Mir, had a miraculous escape after his driver spotted just in time a bag inside his car with explosives.
