Canada to resettle female Afghan judges

| @indiablooms | Jan 01, 2022, at 11:29 pm

Kabul/UNI: Canada will resettle the female Afghan judges currently residing in Greece, the spokesperson of the Immigration Minister of Canada said.

The female judges along with others were evacuated from Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover of Kabul on August 15. They are currently living in Greece.

Around 230 Afghans, including family members of the judges, would be resettled.
Moreover, the ministry will also resettle people from the LGBTQ community, referred by a third-party aid organisation.

Canada has resettled 3,915 Afghans so far.

Tens of thousands of Afghan people fled the country after the Taliban's takeover.
