Bangladesh: Awami League leader found dead in Sunamganj

Dhaka, Mar 19 (IBNS):  A union level leader of Bangladesh's ruling Awami League was found dead in the country's Sunamganj Sadar upazila on Tuesday, media reports said.

The deceased was identified as Joynal Abedin, 38, general secretary of AL Jahangirnagar union unit, Moksed Ali, chairman of the union, told The Daily Star.

Local people reportedly found the body beside a school in Islampur area.

They handed it to the police.

Three people were held in connection with the incident, Md Shahidullah, officer-in-charge of Sunamganj Police Station, told the Bangladesh based newspaper.
