Kabul, Sept 3 (IBNS): Two bomb blasts in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Sunday left at least six police personnel injured, media reports said.

Deputy provincial police spokesman Bashir Khaksar told Pajhwok Afghan News the twin blasts targeted a police check-point in the jurisdiction of the 14th police district shortly after 8pm Sunday evening.

Another security official, who wished to go unnamed, told the Afghanistan-based news agency that the 14th police district deputy chief was among six police injured in the blasts.

According to reports, one of the two bombs that went off first had been placed in a power transformer.

The other explosive was planted on the median strip, reports said.
