22 militants killed in airstrikes in central Afghanistan

Tarinkot, Afghanistan, Feb 16 (UNI/Xinhua/IBNS) Up to 22 militants were confirmed dead as fighting aircrafts targeted Taliban gathering outside provincial capital Tirin Kot city, a security official Zainullah said on Saturday.

A Taliban eminent commander named Mutmain is among those killed in the raids and 16 more insurgents sustained injuries, the official said.


The sorties conducted on tip off when a group of Taliban fighters under Mawlawi Hamdullah to assembled to discuss new plan and organize militants' attacks on security forces, Zainullah furhter said.


Taliban militants are yet to make comment on the report.
