Madrid, May 31 (IBNS): Just five days after lifting the coveted Champions League title for the third straight time with Spanish giants Real Madrid, boss Zinedine Zidane has announced a shock exit on Thursday.

Addressing reporters during a press conference at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Zidane said that the club needs a fresh voice.

Zidane, a former Real Madrid player, took charge of the club in January 2016. He has since gone on to win the Spanish league title apart from three CL titles in three years.

"What I think is that this team needs to continue winning but I think it needs a change, a different voice, another methodology. And that's why I took this decision," the former World Cup winning French footballer said.

In 149 games as the manager, Zidane managed to win 104 of those along with 29 draws. He also had a decent winning percentage of 69.8.
