World Bridge: India become runners up in senior category

Kolkata/IBNS: Indian Senior team (60+ years) put up a tough fight before losing to Poland by 194 to 239 victory points in the final of the World Bridge Championship held recently in Italy.

India were awarded the d'orsi trophy for becoming runners up.

The team were represented by R Krishnan (captain), Ashoke Goel, Anil Padhey, Rajesh Dalal, Sukamal Das and Subrata Saha.

Meanwhile, according to a message received from the non-playing captain of the Indian men team, Debasush Ray, Indian men, competing for Bermuda Bowl in the Open category,  performed moderately to take the 13th spot while the women's team ended in 24th position.

In the mixed team event India were placed at 18th.
