We didn't bat better, says Delhi Capital skipper

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) After losing out to Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in the 16th Indian Premier League (IPL) match here at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer on Thursday said that if the team had batted well, then the result would have been different.

"Our last two matches were the same. It was difficult to bat on the wicket, they bowled first, following which they had an idea abut the wicket. We didn't bat better. We have learned from this mistake. We should come back positive and strong," Iyer said after the match.

'I thought 140-150 would have been a good score, especially with three spinners playing. Unfortunately, we lost too many wickets and could not capitalise. A little support was needed from one of the top four batsmen. I had taken the responsibility, but unfortunately, I took on Rashid and got out as well," the Delhi skipper added.

So far, Hyderabad has won three matches off four, while on the other hand, Delhi tasted it's third defeat off five matches in the ongoing 12th edition of IPL.
