Kolkata, Apr 19 (IBNS): Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli slammed his first century of the 12th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens here on Friday as the visitors scored 213/4 in 20 overs.

Despite starting his innings in a slow mode, Kohli accelerated his innings to score 100 off 57 balls. In the last ball of the innings, Kohli was dismissed.

In absence of AB de Villiers, the Bangalore skipper was aptly supported by Moeen Ali, who came out to bat at number four and smashed 66 off 28 balls.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Kolkata were looking helpless as the bowlers went for too many runs once Kohli and Ali shifted their batting to the fourth gear.

The duo scored 90 runs off 43 balls in a partnership.
