U15 Youth League: Pune FC face PIFA Colaba in a crucial away game

Pune, Dec 25 (IBNS) Pune FC will be looking for a third away win when they face PIFA Colaba FC in a crucial Under-15 Youth League, Maharashtra Zone, Round-8 encounter at the Cooperage Ground in Mumbai on Saturday.

Going into the game on the back of consecutive home wins over Kenkre FC and Steadfast Academy, Pune FC, who are at the top of the table with 19 points, are hoping to maintain their form. Moreover, having been held to a goalless draw in their last away game against Mumbai FC two weeks ago, Pune FC will be keen to get back to winning ways on the road.

Speaking on the eve of the clash, Pune FC Coach Mohan Dass said, “The game against PIFA Colaba will be a tough one. They have been strong at home and haven’t conceded many goals. But we are positive about our chances and we will stick to our plan.”

Hosts PIFA Colaba are currently third in the standings with seven points in as many games. For the record, they have earned four of those seven points at home in three games with a win, a draw and a loss. Given the fact that they have scored majority of their goals at the Cooperage, Pune FC will need to be cautious in their approach.

“We registered a big win the last time we played them. However, with all teams improving with every single game, we will not take any team lightly. We have prepared hard throughout the week and are ready for the big game,” added Coach Mohan Dass.

The first leg encounter saw Pune FC pump six goals past PIFA Colaba at Mamurdi. Back then, strikes from Gulam Ansari, Mozaffar Ali, Ishan Dey and Cladeo Nongpluh handed Pune FC a big 6-1 win and they will be hoping for a similar result on the morrow.

The match at Cooperage will be played under floodlights and kicks off at 6.30 PM IST on Saturday.
