T20: Rohit Sharma guides India to beat Bangladesh by eight wickets, level series 1-1

Rajkot/IBNS: After Delhi debacle, India bounced back in the second T20 International match against Bangladesh and defeated the visiting side by eight wickets in a series-levelling clash here on Thursday.

Skipper Rohit Sharma shined with the willow and hammered 43-ball 85 runs to ensure a memorable win for India against a spirited side that beat the hosts convincingly in the opening match.

After restricting Bangladesh for 153 runs for the loss of six wickets, Indian batsmen reached 154 runs by losing just two wickets.

Sharma led from the front and in his magnificent innings hit six boundaries and equal number of sixes.

Shikhar Dhawan contributed 31 runs and Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten at 24 at the end.

Aminul Islam picked up two wickets for Bangladesh.

Earlier, Bangladesh managed to post 153 runs on the scorecard.

Yuzvendra Chahal bowled economically and gave away just 28 runs in his four overs and picked up two crucial wickets.

Liton Das (29 off 21 balls, 4x4) and Mohammad Naim (36 off 31 balls, 5x4) gave Bangladesh a crucial opening at the beginning.

Soumya Sarkar (30) and Mahmadullah (30) made important contributions at the end.

Chahar, Sundar and Ahmed picked up one wicket each.

After the victory, India leveled the series 1-1.
