Sunrisers Hyderabad defeat Kolkata Knight Riders in rain-curtailed match

| | Apr 23, 2015, at 03:58 am
Vishakhapatnam, Apr 22 (IBNS) Sunrisers Hyderabad beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs, as to the Duckworth Lewis method, after KKR's run-chase was cut short to 12 overs.

A David Warner inspired Sunrisers batting line-up posted 176 runs on the board for the loss of four wickets.

A rain inflicted delay forced the second innings to be curtailed to 12 overs.

The Duckworth Lewis rule came into play, leaving the Knight Riders with a target of 119 runs.

Sunrisers openers David Warner(91) and Shikhar Dhawan(54) gave their team a strong start to the innings.

Warner smashed 4 sixes and 9 fours during his knock.

Russell and Uthappa's heroics in the second innings went in vain as a well-disciplined SRH bowling attack made a strong comeback towards the death overs.

Robin Uthappa scored 34 off 21 balls which included 2 sixes and 2 fours.

Praveen Kumar, Moises Henriques, Bhubaneshwar Kumar and Ravi Bopara picked up one wicket each for the Sunrisers.
