Sachin Tendulkar wishes Virat Kohli on becoming fastest batsman to touch 10,000 runs in ODIs

Mumbai, Oct 24 (IBNS): Hours after skipper Virat Kohli shattered a record created by former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar on the cricket field, the Master Blaster wished him over the achievement.

Kohli became the fastest cricketer to touch 10,000 runs mark during the second ODI against West Indies.

"The intensity and consistency with which you bat is just amazing. @imVkohli, congratulations on achieving 10,000 runs in ODIs. Keep the runs flowing," Sachin said praising the Indian batsman.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli continued his strong performance on the cricket field and shattered another record during the second ODI match against West Indies on Wednesday.

Kohli smashed Sachin Tendulkar's record and became the fastest man to score 10,000 runs in ODIs.

The Indian skipper achieved the feat in his 205th innings.

Tendulkar had created the record in his 259th innings in 2001.

Kohli reached the mark with a single off spinner Ashley Nurse in the match.

He became the 13th batsman internationally to reach the milestone and the fifth Indian batsman to do so.

Kohli made his ODI debut in 2008 against Sri Lanka.

Kohli remained unbeaten at 157 runs in the innings. It was his 37th ODI century.
