Adelaide/IBNS: Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer and allrounder Axar Patel helped India to score 264-9 in 50 overs in the second ODI against Australia at the Adelaide Oval here on Thursday.

Rohit slammed 73 off 97 balls (seven fours and two sixes), Iyer scored 61 off 77 balls (seven fours) and Axar hit a quick 44 off 41 balls (five fours) on a day India lost wickets quite early.

After Nitish Reddy was dismissed cheaply, India's inning was spearheaded by tailenders Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, who scored 24 and 13 respectively.

Adam Zampa picked four wickets for 60 in 10 overs while Xavier Bartlett scalped three wickets for 39 in 10 overs.

Xavier's three wickets include India's cricket icon Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for a duck for the second consecutive time in the ongoing series.
