Real Madrid claim La Liga title with a win while Barca lose again

| @indiablooms | Jul 17, 2020, at 02:38 pm

Madrid/Xinhua: Real Madrid were confirmed as La Liga Champions for the 2019/2020 season after a 2-1 win at home to Villarreal on Friday.

Karim Benzema scored in the 27th minute and then netted a retaken penalty in the 77th minute to put Madrid 2-0 up before Vicente Iborra netted for Villarreal in the 85th minute.

In the end Barcelona's 2-1 defeat to Osasuna meant that Madrid would have been Champions even if they had lost, but the win only serves to highlight the superiority of Zinedine Zidane' team since football returned to Spain just over a month ago with 10 wins from 10 games.
