New Delhi/IBNS: Celebrity television journalist Rajat Sharma on Saturday resigned as the president of The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

In a tweet, Sharma informed about his resignation and said he was facing difficulties to work.

Sharma tweeted, "Today I have tendered my resignation from the post of President, DDCA and has sent it to the Apex Council. I thank all of you for your overwhelming support, respect and affection during my tenure."

In his resignation letter, Sharma said "vested interests" are working in DDCA.

"The cricket administration here is full of pulls and pressures all the time. I feel that vested interests are always actively working against the interest of cricket," Sharma's statement has been quoted by NDTV.

Sharma, who was reportedly appointed after getting the backing from former Union Finance Minister late Arun Jaitley, remained the DDCA chief for 20 months.
