Dubai:  West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer slammed heroic 28 unbeaten runs as he helped Delhi Capitals  beat Chennai Super Kings by three wickets in a crucial Indian Premier League match here on Monday.

The West Indies hammered two boundaries and a six as Delhi reached 139 runs for the loss of seven wickets after CSK scored 136 runs for five wickets loss in their quota of 20 overs.

Shikhar Dhawan remained the top scorer for Delhi with his 39 runs but things were getting tough for the side after Dhawan departed.

Ravindra Jadeja and  Shardul Thakur picked up two wickets for CSK.

Earlier, riding on Ambati Rayudu's fighting 55 unbeaten runs knock, CSK had scored 136 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Axar Patel took two wickets for Delhi.
