New Delhi, Oct 21 (IBNS): Cricketers, including formers like VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag, on Sunday appreciated Indian team's strong performance against West Indies where they defeated the visitors by eight wickets in the first ODI match of the series.

Virat Kohli (140) and Rohit Sharma (152*) added 246 runs in the second wicket partnership after Shikhar Dhawan (4) departed as India chased down West Indies 322 runs for the loss of eight wickets easily.

India reached 326 runs by losing two wickets with 47 balls to spare.

Congratulating the Indian team, Virender Sehwag, ex-cricketer, tweeted: "Double Dhamaka. Kohli and Rohit made it look very easy. Congratulations @ImRo45 on your 6th 150+ score, the first man to do so. Tremendous achievement. #IndvWI."

Former cricketer VVS Laxman said: "Congratulations Team India on a comprehensive victory. Kohli’s hunger and consistency is extraordinary and Rohit Sharma is all class, a treat to watch for the wonderful crowd in Guwahati #IndvWI."

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh posted: "What a partnership it was from the ICC ODI world rank number 1 and 2! When these two play together there's no stopping them! Two great centuries and one massive partnership! @ImRo45 @imVkohli #INDvWI."
