Mount Maunganui, Jan 28 (IBNS): Defeating New Zealand by seven wickets in the third ODI match, India took an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five-match series here on Monday.

Chasing a target of 244, India reached home with seven overs to spare.

Middle-order batsmen, Ambati Rayudu (40) and Dinesh Karthik (38), ensured an easy victory falls on India's lap.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, New Zealand lost quick wickets upfront.

A 119-run partnership between Ross Taylor and Tom Latham helped the hosts to make a respectable total.
