India thrash Windies in fifth ODI by nine wickets, win series 3-1

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 1 (IBNS): In a complete dominance over the visitors, India outplayed Windies in the fifth and final One Day International (ODI) match by nine wickets to clinch series victory at the Greenfield International Stadium here on Thursday.

Batting first, Windies were bowled out for just 104 in 31.5 overs.

On a day when the Windies batting collapsed, Marlon Samuels and Jason Holder were the only two batsmen who crossed 20. While Samuels scored 24, Holder was dismissed at 25.

Chasing the low target, India took only 14.5 overs to reach home.

Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma remained not out at 63 while skipper Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 33.

India won the five-match ODI series 3-1.
