India beat Sri Lanka in T20 clash by seven wickets to take 1-0 lead

Indore/IBNS: Indian bowler Shardul Thakur picked up three wickets and Virat Kohli contributed 30 unbeaten runs as India defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second T20 International match of the series here on Tuesday.

With the win, India took 1-0 lead in the series.

Sri Lanka posted 142 runs for the loss o0f nine wickets and then India reached 144 runs by losing three wickets with 15 balls to spare.

KL Rahul (45), Shikhar Dhawan (32)Iyer (34) and Kohli (30*) contributed with their willows to clinch the match.

Silva picked up two wickets for Sri Lanka.

The first match of the series was abandoned on Sunday due to rain.

India bowlers earlier restricted Sri Lanka to 142 runs.

Kusal Perera top-scored for Sri Lanka with his 34.
