First Test: South Africa struggle at 39/3 after India scored 502/7 dec

Visakhapatnam: After India declared their first innings at 502/7, Virat Kohli's bowlers put South Africa under pressure as the visitors lost three wickets by the end of the second day of first Test here on Thursday.

South Africa scored 39/3 at stumps on day 2.

Dean Elgar and Temba Bavuma are unbeaten at 27 and 2 respectively.

Ravichandran Ashwin picked two wickets while Ravindra Jadeja clinched one.

After Rohit Sharma's dazzling 176, Mayank Agarwal slammed a double hundred on the second day as India declared their first innings at 502/7.

Though Rohit was dismissed at 176, Mayank continued with his batting and scored 215 off 371 balls. He hit 23 fours and six sixes.

Despite the failure of the Indian middle-order, allrounder Ravindra Jadeja played an unbeaten knock of 30 off 46 balls.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha scored a quick 21 off 16 balls.

Keshav Maharaj was the most successful bowler for South Africa. He picked three wickets for 189 runs.
