Asian Games: India win two gold and silver medals on day 11, take tally to 54

Jakarta, Aug 29 (IBNS): Boasting on superb performances of Aprinder Singh and Swapna Barman, India won two gold medals on the 11th day of Asian Games 2018 on Wednesday.

Arpinder Singh won the gold medal in men's triple jump competition event.

Singh grabbed the gold medal with an effort 16.77 metres in the final.

He made India proud by winning the medal after a gap of 48 years for India. 

Swapna Barman was the other Indian star who clinched a gold medal on Wednesday. She emerged victorious in women's heptathlon event.

Athlete Dutee Chand won a silver medal each in the 200 and 100 metres race.

She clocked 23.20 seconds to finish the 100 metres race.

India are presently at the ninth position with 54 medals.
