Asian Games: India clinch two gold medals on day 12, take tally to 59

Jakarta, Aug 30 (IBNS): Continuing the momentum, India won two gold medals on the 12th day of Asian Games 2018 here on Thursday.

India won a gold medal in women's 4x400 metre event.

Hima Das, Raju Poovamma, Saritaben Laxmanbhai Gayakwad and Vismaya Koroth took three minutes and 28.71 seconds to clinch the gold.

Earlier, Indian athletic Jinson Johnson won a gold medal in men's 1500 metres.

Johnson took 3:44:72 to finish the race.

India won a silver medal in men's 4x400 metre event.

Muhammed Kunhu, Dharun Ayyasamy, Muhammed Anas and Rajiv clocked three minutes and 1.85 seconds.

P Chitra won a bronze medal in women's 1500 metres. She finished the race in 4:12:56.

Seema Punia won a bronze medal in women's discus throw with an effort of 62.26 metres.

India are presently at the eighth position with 59 medals.
