2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh to join Delhi Capitals coaching staff: Reports

Former India all-rounder and World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh is likely to begin his coaching career in 2027 by joining the support staff of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals.

According to TimesofIndia.com, Sourav Ganguly—who is expected to head the franchise’s support setup when JSW Group takes over operations for the next two-year cycle—will have his former India teammate in the dugout.

A senior Delhi Capitals official has confirmed the development to the newspaper.

Delhi Capitals is operated in alternating two-year cycles by co-owners GMR Group and JSW Group. After being managed by GMR during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, the franchise will come under JSW Group’s control for the next two editions.

The team has struggled in recent seasons, failing to reach the playoffs in the last two years. This year, Delhi Capitals finished sixth in the standings.

Ganguly recently coached the franchise’s SA20 team, Pretoria Capitals, and guided them to the final of the tournament.

Yuvraj Singh, known for his match-winning performances in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup triumphs under MS Dhoni, remains one of the most iconic limited-overs players in Indian cricket history.

During his international career, he played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is for India.
