Kolkata/IBNS: The first two episodes of Sourav Palodhi directorial Uribaba's new web series Kholam Kuchi were screened at a cafe here earlier this week.

The screening was attended by Palodhi, lead actor Anindya Sengupta and others.

Speaking to India Blooms, Palodhi said the story is a "dilemma and collision of beliefs".

"This story is about the dilemma and collision between multiple beliefs. We mostly live in a dilemma in our beliefs. It is a social satire shown through the prism of a love story which people will easily connect with and find their answers," he said.

On his process of filmmaking, Palodhi said, "I believe in imparting a lasting element through my works, be it theatre or films. The series speaks against the clash over religion, choice of clothes, food."

Sengupta, who has recently played an urban character in Srijit Mukherji's X=Prem recently, played the role of a small town boy in the web series where he gets married to a girl named Gargi, played by Sreya Bhattacharyya.

On his character, Sengupta says, "Visualising my character Sourav through the urban, liberal middle-class prism, he may appear to have mean-mindedness, illogical beliefs."

"But the character can never be boxed and that will be realised with the passage of the episodes. Sourav also believes in certain things like gender-equality," he added.

The web series, which is produced by Trickster and Span Productions, also stars Arpita Ghosh, Senjuti Roy Mukherjee, Kripabindu Chowdhury, Sulagna Nath, Sucharita Manna and Subhankar Ghatak.
