Ranveer Singh's 83, Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi to release in 2021

Mumbai: Upcoming Bollywood movies Sooryavanshi and 83 The Film will release in 2021, film critic Taran Adarsh confirmed on Friday.

"ALL EYES ON FIRST QUARTER OF 2021... #Sooryavanshi and #83TheFilm to release in *cinemas* NEXT YEAR [2021]... Both will release *before* 31 March 2021... Release dates *NOT* finalised yet," Adarsh tweeted.

The films were supposed to release this year but it was delayed due to COVID-19.

Actor Ranveer Singh will be seen as Kapil Dev in the 83.

Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone will portray Kapil Dev's wife's role onscreen.

The film is directed by Kabir Khan.

Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi stars Akshay and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.

There were earlier speculations that both the movies will be released on OTT platforms.

Forced by closure of theatre due to COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, several movies were released on OTT platforms earlier this year.
