I will perform my duties to the best of my abilities: Anupam Kher after being appointed as FTII chairman

Pune, Oct 11 (IBNS): After being appointed as the new chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), actor Anupam Kher said he will try to perform duties to the best of his abilities.

"I feel deeply humbled & honoured to be apportioned as the Chairman of iconic #FTII. I will perform my duties to the best of my abilities.," Kher tweeted.

He will replace Gajendra Chauhan, whose appointment has sparked off an intense controversy as well as protests by students of the institute.

Chauhan had shot to fame with his role as Yudhisthira in the TV epic serial Mahabharata.

According to media reports, Kher too had opposed Chauhan's appointment at that time.
