Asha Audio launches Surojit Chatterjee's folk album 'Folk Connection'

Kolkata, Sept 23 (IBNS): Music company, Asha Audio, on Tuesday launched the new folk album of singer Surojit Chatterjee's group- 'Surojit O Bondhura'- 'Folk Connection' in Kolkata.

Actress Rituparna Sengupta, the director of Asha Audio, Mahua Lahiri, singer Surojit Chatterjee and his group's members were present at the event.

Launching the album here, actress Rituparna Sengupta said, "I am very happy today. My friend Surojit did a great job. They have composed traditional Bengali folk songs in their own style. Wish them a grand success. Hope this album will be the best seller in this Durga Puja."

Speaking about the album, singer Surojit Chatterjee said, "After getting a very good response from the listeners for my previous folk album 'Folkira', I have decided to come up with another such album. Folk music always has a universal appeal and I personally enjoy singing such songs. We have incorporated a new soundscape into these traditional songs. Hope listeners will enjoy this album."

Asha Audio's director Mahua Lahiri said, "Folk music has captivated the listeners over the ages. We are extremely happy the way this album has shaped up."

However, the album 'Folk Connection'- a collection of seven traditional Bengali folk songs- is priced at Rs. 125 and available across leading retail and online stores.
