With highest single-day spike of 1202 cases, Assam COVID-19 tally surges to 11,001

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has witnessed the highest single-day spike on Saturday in the numbers of COVID-19 as the state has registered 1202 positive cases for the deadly virus in the last 24 hours

With the new cases, the state has crossed 11,000-mark.

Out of the fresh cases, 777 cases have been detected in Guwahati alone.

Confirming the report Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, a total of 1202 positive cases have detected in the state in last 24 hours and it is the biggest single-day spike.

He also said that out of 1202 cases, 777 cases have been detected in Guwahati alone.

Earlier on June 30, the state had reported 613 COVID-19 positive cases.

14 COVID-19 patients have died in the state so far.

Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted – “In the biggest spike ever, Assam on 4th July reported 1202 cases, 777 of these from Guwahati City alone. Time for all of us to be extra vigilant. Total cases 11001, Recovered 6327, Active cases 4657, Deaths 14.”
