Kolkata/IBNS: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was found murdered at Khanakul Natipur-2, Doulatchak village in West Bengal on the occasion of India's 74th Independence Day on Saturday.

Sudarshan Pramanik, a booth-level worker of the saffron party, was allegedly murdered during the hoisting of the National Flag.

The BJP has alleged that the murder was committed by the 'goons' of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

BJP's central observer for West Bengal, Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted, "In Mamata Raj, hoisting the flag on Independence Day is also a crime! BJP's worker Sudarshan Pramanik of Arambagh area was killed. We suspect the crime was committed by the TMC goons. Today we have to take a pledge to be free from this goonda raj."
