West Bengal: BJP urges Governor Jagdeep Dhankar to impose President's Rule
Kolkata/UNI/IBNS: BJP state president and MP Dilip Ghosh on Sunday urged Governor Jagdeep Dhankar to recommend President's Rule in West Bengal in view of the violent protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
'We called on the governor and urged him to send a detailed report to the Centre of the largescale violence in the state carried out by infiltrators. We also requested him to visit the affected areas,' Mr Ghosh told reporters after coming out of the Raj Bhavan.
A delegation led by Member Parliament and BJP President Dilip Ghosh submitted a representation about the serious situation in the State and called for immediate intervention. The situation was termed as internal disturbance and virtual collapse of rule of law.

He accused the Trinamool Congress Government of inaction in the face of the torrid violence.
Agitators wrecked public property, mainly trains and buses for the third day today protesting the CAA. They also burnt down a couple of railway stations. Protestors also attacked policemen.
'The police are mere spectators and the government is looking the other way,' the BJP state chief said.
'In such a situation the governor must send a detailed report and recommend imposition of Articles 356,' Ghosh added.
