Uttar Pradesh: Woman, son drown in Bhadohi

Bhadohi/UNI: A woman and her son drowned in a pond in the Arjunpur village of the Chauri area in this Uttar Pradesh district on Saturday.

Police sources here said that Sarfaraz (10), a resident of Arjunpur village, was bathing in a pond of the village when he started drowning.

Noticing that his son was drowning, his mother Nazreen (45) jumped into the pond. The people present nearby tried to save them but both the woman and her son had drowned by that time.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and a large number of locals gathered on the spot.

Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.

Aurai DSP Lekhraj Singh said that the matter is being probed.
