Uttar Pradesh: Three masked men shoot retired employee in Pratapgarh

A retired employee of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) was shot dead by three masked men in Aspur Devsara area of Pratapgarh district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Monday.

Police sources said that Shyam Shankar Tiwari (62), a resident of Akaripur village, was shot dead by three persons while he was going to the temple near his house late on Sunday night. "According to the family members the incident took place over an old rivalry," they said.

Sources said that on the complaint of the deceased's son Shivam Tiwari a case has been filed against one named and two unidentified persons.

"The body has been sent for postmortem examination and the matter is being investigated," they said.
