Jhansi/IBNS: The cops in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi have unearthed the mystery surrounding a viral video showing gym equipment moving eerily in an empty park.

The video was shared by multiple accounts, claiming it was taken in different places. Some said it was taken in Japanese Park in Delhi’s Rohini, while some others claimed they saw the strange activity in Jhansi's Kanshiram Park.

Finally, the Jhansi Police decided to investigate the matter and found indeed the equipment kept moving despite no one using it.

After inspecting, the police found there was no “fitness enthusiast ghost” behind the activity and it was only the excess grease in the joints of the swing that keept it moving involuntarily several times once set in motion by someone.

The police posted a video showing how it was all happening, which also got the netizens talking.

Police said that it was the act of some mischievous elements who set the swing in motion and made the video. All the claims about paranormal activity in the video is false and the culprits behind it will be traced and booked, they added.

Top UP Police personnel Rahul Srivastav on Twitter said “Miscreants will be locked up in a ‘haunted’ lockup soon #NoHostForGhost,” he added.

Meanwhile, the netizens did not waste time coming to the rescue of the videomakers and asked the police to dismiss them as pranksters. Some taking a dig said Uttar Pradesh Police can use their wit and creativity.
