Uttar Pradesh: Bodies of woman, her child found in village pond in Mahoba

Bodies of a missing woman and her children were recovered from a village pond in Mahobkanth area of Mahoba district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer said here.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harshita Gangwar said that bodies of Poonam (28) and her son Utkarsh (2), who were missing since Thursday, were recovered from the pond in Parapatar village.

"Poonam got married to Ranjit Rajpoot, a resident of Tunna village in Hamirpur district, three years ago," she said.

She said that Poonam had come to his brother's house on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

"The bodies have been sent for postmortem and the matter is being investigated," she said.
