Bulandshahr/UNI: A policeman was suspended for allegedly demanding bribe for mediating between two sides in this Uttar Pradesh district, police said on Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SK Singh here said that an audio had gone viral on social media, wherein Head Constable Vikas Tomar, posted at Araniya police station, could be heard demanding bribe for settling a matter between two sides, which tarnishes the image of the police.

Based on the matter, Vikas Tomar has been suspended and the probe in the entire matter has been handed over to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Harendra Kumar Singh.

Further action will be taken as per the investigation report.
