Bolpur, Oct 12 (UNI) BJP's teachers' cell leader and TMC's Birbhum district president Anubrata Mandal's cousin Sumit Ranjan Mondal has been arrested from Bolpur on Friday in connection with an old case.

The arrest has created strong resentments in the saffron camp with Birbhum district BJP leader Anupam Hazra condemning the arrest.

Sumit Mandal joined BJP during last Lok Sabha polls.

Hazra alleged that the arrest was the result of political vengeance and to target those who had switched over to the saffron camp from the ruling regime.TMC leader Anubrata Mandal, however, denied that Sumit was his cousin.
