Three held with Rs 10.60 lakh cash in Manipur

Imphal/IBNS: Ahead of by-polls, the troops of Assam Rifles had apprehended three people and recovered Rs 10.60 lakh cash in Manipur.

Based on intelligence, Assam Rifles troops intercepted three individuals traveling in two Maruti Gypsy vehicles and recovered Rs. 10.6 lakh cash on Thursday.

The vehicles were intercepted on Thursday while moving from Yairipok to Namlee village.

Both were moving without any vehicle registration plates and the drivers did not have valid car documents.

A top official of Assam Rifles said that, on inspection of the vehicles approximately Rs 5 lakh were recovered from each vehicle.

The two individuals driving the vehicles were identified as Amos Athary and Thanglian Sengtong and they were accompanied by Longjam Premjit Singh.

The apprehended individuals, vehicles and Rs 10,60,400 in cash were handed over to Kasom Khullen Police Station for further investigation.
