Mangaluru/UNI: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) has expelled three party leaders for six years for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities, DCC president said on Sunday.

Speaking to mediapersons, DCC president and MLC K Harish Kumar said, “We have expelled these three congress leaders from the party for six years, since we found out that they are contesting against party’s candidates in the MCC elections."

The expelled leaders includes former MCC Mayor Gulzar Banu, B Vishwanath and T K Thousif, who are contesting against the Congress candidates in the forthcoming Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Council elections on November 12.

It has been proved that they have been engaged in anti-party activities. Hence, their party membership will remain suspended for six years, he added.
