Ten passengers hurt as MMTS collides with stationary express train at Kachiguda Rly station

Hyderabad/UNI: At least ten passengers sustained multiple injures after an MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) train collided with a stationary express train at Kachiguda Railway station here on Monday.

The incident occurred when an MMTS train which is coming from Malakpet side collided with a stationary express train, resulting 10 passengers travelling in MMTS getting injured.

Railway police personnel and Railway staff immediately rushed to the accident spot, administered first aid to the injured and shifted them to a hospital.

About 8 coaches were derailed including 5 of MMTs train. Railway authorities rescheduled some trains due to the accident.

Work is underway on to remove the coaches from the track.

The driver of the MMTs train was trapped inside the engine after the collision and efforts are underway to rescue him, according to Railway police.
