Supreme Court approves CBSE's assessment scheme for pending board exams
New Delhi/IBNS: The Supreme Court on Friday approved the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)'s assessment scheme for the pending board examinations which were not held due to the Covid-19 spread and the nationwide lockdown, media reports said.
With the top court's nod, the central board can now prepare the results for the pending subjects on the basis of the examinations already conducted and internal assessment performance.
If the Covid-19 situation improves, the CBSE will give class 12 students an opportunity to sit for an examination to improve their marks, exam controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.
However, class 10 students won't get the opportunity to improve their marks by sitting for an examination, Bhardwaj added.
The CBSE on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that it had cancelled the board examinations scheduled to be held from Jul 1 to 15 due to the Coronavirus situation.
The apex court was hearing a petition filed by parents of the students seeking a stay on the remaining examinations.
