| @indiablooms | Jan 12, 2020, at 10:28 pm

Colombo/UNI: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is likley to travel to India next month for talks with the Indian government, The Sunday Morning reported Sunday.

The prime minister's trip will be the third high-level visit to India after president Gotabaya Rajpaksa and Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

The newspaper quoted sources at the Prime Minister’s Office as saying that Rajapaksa is expected to travel to India in early February but the dates were yet to be finalised.

The prime minister visit will come as the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) continues to push for a political solution for the Tamils which includes the full implementation of the Indian-brokered 13th Amendment to the Constitution that envisaged the devolution of powers to the provinces.

During President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s visit, Prime Minister Modi had noted the importance of implementing the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.
