SP leader SRS Yadav succumbs to Covid 19, Mulayam, Akhilesh pay condolence

Lucknow/UNI: Senior Samajwadi Party leader and MLC SRS Yadav breathed his last at the SGPGI hospital here on late Monday night.

Party sources here said that Yadav, who was admitted to the SGPGI a few days back after being infected with Covid-19, died at around midnight. He was 68 yrs old.

SRS Yadav was one of the senior party leaders of the SP and was in charge of the state party office for the past several years.

He joined the SP after leaving his job in the cooperative bank in 1989 when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the Chief Minister to become his OSD.

Later he became the close confidant of the SP patriarch and later he became the trusted leader of Akhilesh Yadav too when he took over from his father.

Yadav, popularly known as Babuji within the party, was OSD to the CM whenever SP was in power and was the Man Friday of the party in controlling funds of the party.

Meanwhile, SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, party president Akhilesh Yadav along with several party leaders have expressed their condolence on the death of SRS Yadav.

UP Assembly Speaker Hridya Narain Dikshit too has also conveyed his condolence to Yadav.
