Sonowal visits flood-affected Majuli, assures to provide all possible help
He also took stock of the relief materials being provided to the camp inmates in the island district.
Sonowal also asked the district administration to swing its men and materials for the relief and rescue operations and provide all facilities including pure drinking water to the flood affected people.
He also took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the camp in-mates especially elderly people and children.
Sonowal asked the administration to ensure supply of nutritional baby food to three relief camps and three distribution centres in the district. Moreover, strict instruction was also issued so that no flood victim is denied of relief materials.
The Assam CM visited three relief camps at Kamalabari and Garmur areas and spent time with the flood-hit people.
He assured them to provide everything possible.
Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Naba Kumar Doley also accompanied Sonowal during his Majuli visit.
It may be noted that the current wave of flood have affected 58 revenue villages in the island, damaging 1760 hectare crop area, rendering hundreds of people homeless. Moreover, the flood has affected nearly 48 thousand people in the district.
