Sonowal asks district administrations to undertake survey at grass root to resume economic activities

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday at a meeting held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dibrugarh took stock of the latest COVID-19 situation in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts and asked the concerned DCs and Joint Directors Health to ensure adherence of guidelines for the treatment COVID 19 positive patients.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sonowal took stock of the number of COVID 19 positive patients, their treatment protocols, quarantine and isolation facilities as well as other awareness campaigns to ensure adherence to safety protocols.

In the meeting Principal of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh briefed the Chief Minister of all the treatment facilities put into place in view of the pandemic.

Sonowal asked the principal to impress upon his hospital administration to remain ever alert to provide medical intervention to the critical COVID 19 positive patients without any delay.

 

The Assam Chief Minister while taking stock of the steps taken at the Covid Care Centres in both districts, asked the health department to set up a big COVID Care Centre at Tinsukia.

The meeting also discussed elaborately the prevailing COVID 19 situation in the tea garden areas. In view of the rising number of COVID 19 positive cases, Sonowal stressed on strict surveillance on the tea garden areas for judicious management of pandemic in the area.

He also asked the district administrations to undertake a survey to understand the mental condition of the people and how economic activities can be started in the tea garden areas amid COVID 19 pandemic.

He also emphasized that the economic activities should be resumed adhering all safety protocols as he asked the administration to generate awareness regarding this.

Sonowal asked the Joint Directors Health to render timely medical intervention for all the COVID 19 positive people in home isolation.

In the meeting, SBI Foundation donated 10 ventilators to Assam Medical College and Hospital. Sonowal thanked the SBI fraternity for their generosity and said that the act of benevolence will have positive impact on the administration of treatment.

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Rameswar Teli, MLAs Prasanta Phukan, Rituporno Baruah, Vinod Hazarika, DC Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, Principal Assam Medical College, senior officers of Health and Family Welfare Department were present during the meeting.
