Soldier killed in encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur

Srinagar/IBNS: A soldier was killed in an encounter with terrorists in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, media reports said.

After the jawan was injured in the encounter, he was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to the injury.

The encounter broke out after the Army launched an operation based on intelligence input at the Basantgarh area of Udhampur.

The Army updated that the operation was still on after security forces established contacts with the terrorists in the Dudu Basantgarh heights.

Three to four terrorists believed to be from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are thought to be trapped in the operation.
