Senior Shiv Sena leader Devlekar dies from COVID-19

Thane, Sep 23 (UNI) Senior Shiv Sena leader and former Mayor of KDMC Rajendra Devlekar passed away from Covid-19 at a hospital at Kopar Khairne here on Wednesday, the hospital sources said.

He was 56.

After being tested positive, he had been undergoing treating since last month.

He was instrumental in the work during the present pandemic in Kalyan and selflessly rushed to the need of the patients and their near and dear ones.

He is survived by his mother, wife and two daughters.

The Thane District Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde, Kalyan Chief of the Shiv Sena Gopal Landge, and the local MP Dr Shrikant Shinde have condoled his death, saying his death was a big loss to the party.
