Jammu/UNI: A joint team of Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday launched Cordon and Search Operation ahead of Republic Day in parts of Poonch district along the Line of Control.

"Ahead of Republic Day, the vigil along the Line of Control has been heightened and as a part of this, CASO was launched this morning in Poonch and Mendhar belts," said a senior police officer.

The searches were carried out particularly on major infiltration routes and close to the LoC, he said.
