Russian President Vladimir Putin sent Republic Day greetings to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, praising the country's achievements and well-deserved authority in the global arena.

Republic Day commemorates the adoption of India's constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950, following the end of British colonial rule.

"India has achieved impressive success in social, economic, scientific, technical, and other fields; enjoys well-deserved authority in the world arena; and actively participates in resolving the most crucial issues on the international agenda," Putin said in a message of greetings released by the Kremlin.

Moscow highly values its privileged partnership with New Delhi, Putin said, voicing his confidence that they would continue working to expand constructive cooperation, which meets the interests of both nations.
